Teacher-candidates running in upcoming elections were invited to submit their names and photos to the ATA News. Featured here are candidates who responded to our invitation by the deadline.

Joan Crockett

Joan Crockett is a retired teacher who taught for 33 years in Legal and St. Albert. She is seeking re-election in the St. Albert ward of the Greater St. Albert Catholic Schools.

Maureen Fiebich

Grant Gilbertson

Grant Gilbertson is a retired teacher running in Rockyview, Ward 3, Airdrie. He taught for 37 years—the majority with the Calgary School Board in the area of special education.

W. H. Gordon

W.H. (Skip) Gordon is a retired teacher. He taught with Elk Island Public Schools for 30 years. He is seeking re-election in Electoral Subdivision 3, Elk Island Public Schools.

Judy Hehr

Judy Hehr is a retired teacher and principal with 30 years’ experience. She is a public school trustee candidate for Wards 8/9, Calgary, Board of Education.

Donna Hunt

Donna Hunt is a retired teacher who taught with the Lethbridge Public School District. She is a candidate for the Lethbridge Public School Board.

Fred Kreiner

Fred Kreiner is an assistant principal at Jasper Junior/Senior High School, Jasper. He is a candidate for Jasper town council.

Blair Lowry

Blair Lowry retired after teaching with the Horizon School Division for 34 years. He is a candidate for Ward 3 (Taber/Barnwell), Horizon School Division.

Lorraine Major

Lorraine (Lola) Major is a life member of the Alberta Teachers’ Association. She is seeking a third term as a public school trustee with Lethbridge School District No. 51.

Terry Whitehead

Terry Whitehead is a retired teacher. During her 32-year career, she has taught in Nigeria and Alberta. She is running as a school board trustee for Ward 1 Subdivision 4—Picture Butte Area
